What is your favorite "home cookin" meal?
A roast. It takes about 3 hours, by then you can smell it all over the house. A beef or pork roast, potatoes, carrots, onion, mushrooms. I like to take a big pot, fill w/meat and veg's, season, add a cup or two of water, cook 350 for 3 hours or so, drain the liquid, put pot back in oven uncovered, let it darken, make gravy with the juices either with a rue (flour and butter mix) or with corn starch, corn starch is much easier to work with. when the gravy is done take the pot out of the oven, serve with the gravy. Also home made bread, you can buy loafs, just thaw, only takes 1/2 hour, and a 1/2 to cool.
